WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah superb final over to win the 2nd T20I

Jasprit Bumrah held his nerve in the final over to take India to a series leveling victory (1-1) in the 2nd T20I against England at Nagpur. Bumrah just gave away just two runs and took the wickets of Joe Root and Jos Buttler to win the match for India by 5 runs.

WATCH: Alastair Cook picks up his first test wicket

Alastair Cook got his first wicket in a test match when he had Ishant Sharma caught behind during the 1st Investec Test against India at Trent Bridge, 2014. Cook bowled a full delivery down the leg side, Ishant Sharma flicked at it, there was a huge appeal for a strangle and was given out. In the previous delivery Cook was seen imitating Bob Willis' bowling action.

WATCH: Sanath Jayasuriya 152 vs England at Leeds, 2006

Sanath Jayasuriya hit a blistering 152 off 99 balls in the 5th ODI of the Natwest series against England (2006) to help Sri Lanka chase down a huge target of 322. Sri Lanka won the match with 75 balls to spare with Upul Tharanga also scoring a hundred. Sri Lanka also won the 5-match series 5-0 and Jayasuriya was adjudged the Player of the match and the Player of the series.

CRICKET ON THIS DAY: Irfan Pathan hat-trick vs Pakistan off the first over of the test

On this day in 2006, Irfan Pathan became the second Indian player after Harbhajan Singh to take a hat-trick in test cricket when he dismissed Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf in the very first over of the test match at Karachi. Pathan is also the only bowler to pick up a hat-trick in the first over of a Test match.

India captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat first. In the fourth ball of the first over, Pathan pitched the ball in the middle-and-leg area that swung away from the left-handed Butt, who manages to edge the ball to Rahul Dravid at first slip. In the next ball Younis Khan was trapped lbw. In the last ball of the over, Pathan bowled Mohammad Yousuf with an inswinger to complete the hat-trick.

Result: Pakistan won by 341 runs

Perth Scorchers - Champions of the Big Bash League 2016/17

Perth Scorchers beat Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League final at Perth to win the title for the third time in the last four years. Perth Scorcher won the toss and elected to bowl first and restricted Sydney Sixers to 141 for the loss of 9 wickets. Brad Haddin top scored with 38 for Sydney Sixers. In reply, Scorchers cruised to victory in 15.5 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Michael Klinger scored a 49 ball 71.

Jhye Richardson was declared the Man of the final for his 3/30. Chris Lynn of Brisbane Heat was selected as the Player of the Tournament.

Chris Gayle took an amazing catch in the second test against South Africa at Cape Town, 2008.
Hashim Amla prodded forward to a delivery from Rawl Lewis, the ball flew to the hands of Gayle at slip who took it in his right hand, low, and tumbled forward - the ball coming free of his hand. He flicked it up once, twice before catching it in the back of his hand as he rolled onto his back.

Brendon McCullum hit Steven Finn for four sixes in a row in the World Cup 2015 match against England. The 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th ball of the 6th over all sailed over the rope, the first one taking McCullum to his half century, the fastest ever in a 50 Over World cup match, off just 18 balls.

WATCH: George Bailey bizarre run out

George Bailey got run out in an unfortunate manner during the BBL match between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat. Bailey was off for a third run but his bat got jarred into the turf just before he made the crease and he couldn't get his feet behind the line either.

WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar - massive six

Sachin Tendulkar hit a massive six off Andrew Caddick during the third test against England at Leeds, 2002. Sachin scored an impressive 193 as India amassed 628 in the first innings.

WATCH: Adam Zampa runs out Peter Nevill with his nose!

Adam Zampa was struck on his nose during a Big Bash League (2015/16) match between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars but still managed to run out Peter Nevill. During the Renegades innings, Dwayne Bravo hit one straight down the pitch which got deflected off Nevill's bat at non striker end, cannoned in to Zampa's nose and then to the stumps.

Never mind putting your body on the line, Stars spinner Adam Zampa has put his face on the line to complete one of the most bizarre run outs ever. WATCH: Sourav Ganguly presents the ODI series trophy to Virat Kohli

India won the 3 match ODI series by 2-1. India won the first two matches and England won the last one. All the matches in the series were high scoring encounters as both teams crossed 300 in all three matches. Kedar Jadhav was adjudged the Man of the Series for his 232 runs in three matches. This was Virat Kohli's first series as full time captain.

MS Dhoni completed 200 sixes in ODI's during the 2nd ODI against England at Cuttack. He is now the 4th highest six hitter in ODI's behind Shahid Afridi, Sanath Jayasuriya and Chris Gayle.

WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar brings up his test hundred with a six!

Sachin Tendulkar brought up his 25th test hundred off a six during the 3rd test against Australia at Chennai in 2001. He made 126 and with half centuries from SS Das(84), S Ramesh(61), VVS Laxman(65) and Rahul Dravid(81), India posted a total of 501 in reply to Australia's 391 in the first innings. India eventually won the match by 2 wickets.

Virat Kohli hit his 27th ODI century in only his first match as full time ODI captain during the first ODI against England at Pune. Kohli has now surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to hit most number of hundreds in successful chases (15). He also equalled Tendulkar for most number of hundreds while chasing (17). Kohli (122 off 105 balls) combined with Kedar Jadhav (120 off 76 balls) to guide India to victory.

Hashim Amla - 100 Tests

Hashim Amla becomes the 8th South African player and 66th overall to feature in 100 tests as South Africa takes on Sri Lanka in the third test at Johannesburg.
Amla is the only South African batsman to score a triple hundred and is also the fourth highest run scorer at No. 3 in tests.

WATCH: Peter Handscomb unusual dismissal

Peter Handscomb was dismissed hit wicket off the bowling of Wahab Riaz in the third test between Australia and Pakistan at Sydney. Wahab bowled a wide yorker outside off, Handscomb went really deep in the crease, and had to stretch out for that. In trying to get to the ball from his position outside leg, his bat swing just grazed the leg stump and the leg bail came off. Handscomb made a superb 110 to guide Australia to a total of 538.
