WATCH: Michael Clarke's gutsy hundred against South Africa at Cape Town

Michael Clarke played a gutsy innings against South Africa to score an unbeaten 161 that helped Australia score 494 in the series deciding third test at Cape Town. Clarke faced a barrage of bouncers and he got hit often especially by deliveries from Morne Morkel. Australia went on to win the test and the series (2-1) that also helped them clinch the number one Test ranking.

ON THIS DAY IN 2014: Michael Clarke produced a ton of pure courage to set Australia up for victory in the decisive third Test in South Africa. Batting with a fractured shoulder after a barrage of short balls from Morne Morkel, Clarke finished 161 not out in a win that secured the Aussies the number one Test ranking. It was spine-tingling stuff.
