On Feb 20, 2016, Brendon McCullum hit the fastest test hundred off just 54 balls during the 2nd Test against Australia at Christchurch. This was McCullum's farewell test and he made the occasion memorable with the 145 run knock which included 6 sixes. His effort was two balls faster than the previous record 56-ball century scored by Viv Richards against England in Antigua in 1985-86, which was equalled by Misbah-ul-Haq against Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014-15.
