WATCH: Kane Williamson stunning catch

Kane Williamson took a stunning catch to dismiss South Africa batsman Faf du Plessis during the first test against South Africa at Durban. Neil Wagner bowled one full outside off with the ball moving away. The thick outside edge flew away to Williamson's right at gully who took a blinder.

Ravichandran Ashwin registers all round record

Ravichandran Ashwin registered another record by becoming the second Indian player after Kapil Dev to score 500+ runs and take 50+ wickets in a year. Ashwin reached the landmark during his half century knock against England in the first innings of the 3rd test at Mohali.

Kapil Dev scored 619 runs, took 74 wickets in 1979 and 579 runs, 75 wickets in 1983.

WATCH: Biggest six in Test Cricket

Brett Lee hit West Indies bowler Daren Powell for a monster six during the first test against West Indies at Brisbane in 2005. The ball sailed out of the Gabba and travelled 143 metres.

WATCH: Most Runs scored in an over in Test Cricket

Brian Lara holds the record for most runs in an over in test cricket. He unleashed brutal hitting against Robin Peterson in the first test of the 2003 test series against South Africa at Johannesburg and more interestingly it came in the second last over of day 3 when he scored 4,6,6,4,4,4. Lara eventually went on to score 202 to help West Indies post a total of 410.

George Bailey of Australia equalled this record in 2013 against England at Perth.

CRICKET ON THIS DAY: Adam Gilchrist scored his maiden hundred in Test Cricket

On November 22, 1999, Adam Gilchrist scored his maiden test hundred at Hobart in only his second test. When Gilchrist came in to bat, Australia were reeling at 126/5 chasing a target of 369 set by Pakistan. He weaved a 268 run partnership with Justin Langer for the 6th wicket taking Australia to victory on the final day of the test match.

WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja takes the wicket of Alastair Cook off the last over of Day 4

Alastair Cook scored a fighting half century in England's second innings of the 2nd test at Visakhapatnam. England was set a target of 405 and Cook batted for two sessions and 188 balls until the second ball of the last over from Ravindra Jadeja trapped him lbw.

WATCH: VVS Laxman 100 against West Indies at St Kitts

VVS Laxman scored his 10th test century in the 3rd test against West Indies played at St Kitts, June 2006. His hundred off 231 balls helped India score a decent 362 against West Indies' 581. The match eventually ended in a draw as Laxman batted beautifully in the second innings to score 63.
