World Cup T20: Second Semi-Final: India vs West Indies at Mumbai

This was a cracker of a match. West Indies went against all odds to beat India and progress to the finals of the T20 World Cup 2016.
Virat Kohli played yet an other gem of an innings, scoring 89 off 47 balls. West Indies managed to chase the target of 193 with two balls to spare. Lendl Simmons who landed in India two days back as replacement for injured Andre Fletcher was the star of the show as he smashed 82 off just 51 balls.

West Indies will face England in the finals at Kolkata on April 3rd.

World Cup T20: First Semi-Final: England vs New Zealand at Delhi

England sent in New Zealand to bat first and was set a target of 154. Jason Roy's sublime innings of 78 sealed the spot in the finals for England as they chased the target comfortably with 17 balls remaining.

T20 World Cup Points Table after Super 10

Now that Super 10 matches are all over, below are the standings.
New Zealand will play England in the first semi-finals and West Indies will play India in the second semi-finals. New Zealand became the only team to win all the matches in the Super 10. England and India won three matches each. South Africa and Australia could only bag two wins. Sri Lanka could manage just one victory. Afghanistan pulled off an upset victory over West Indies while Bangladesh could not win any matches although they came close to beating India.

World Cup T20: Match 20: South Africa vs Sri Lanka at Delhi

The Last match before the semi-finals did not gather much attention as both Sri Lanka and South Africa had no chances to make the cut to the semi-finals. Sri Lanka were made to bat first by South Africa and they were not able to post a fighting total as they got all out for 120. South Africa chased the target easily, thanks to a brilliant half century by Hashim Amla.

World Cup T20: Match 19: India vs Australia at Mohali

The India vs Australia match was virtually a quarter final since the winner of the match will play the semi-finals. Australia won the toss, batted first and set India a target of 161. India were reduced to 3/49 by the 8th over. Virat Kohli produced a gem of an innings to take India to the semi-finals. He hit 9 fours and 2 sixes in his 51 ball 82 knock.

India will play the West Indies in the semi-finals.

World Cup T20: Match 18: Afghanistan vs West Indies at Nagpur

Afghanistan pulled off a stunning victory against West Indies beating them by 6 runs. Afghanistan who lost the toss were asked to bat first and they posted a total of 123 for the loss of 7 wickets, thanks to a 40 ball 48 from Najibullah Zadran. West Indies in reply could only manage 117 for the loss of 8 wickets.

This is the first time Afghanistan is beating a team who is in the first 8 rankings in T20Is. This is their ninth game against such oppositions.

World Cup T20: Match 17: Sri Lanka vs England at Delhi

England beat Sri Lanka in a crucial match by 10 runs to enter the semi finals knocking out South Africa and Sri Lanka from the tournament. Jos Buttler's attacking innings of 66 off 37 balls help England post a healthy total. Sri Lanka in reply were 4 wickets down for 15 runs as Angelo Mathews came to their rescue. He battled a hamstring injury at the end although could take Sri Lanka over the mark.

World Cup T20: Match 16: New Zealand vs Bangladesh at Kolkata

New Zealand beat Bangladesh comprehensively by 75 runs in a match that was rather insignificant since New Zealand had already qualified for Semis and Bangladesh already out of contention. Kane Williamson played a wonderful innings on the difficult pitch.

World Cup T20: Match 15: South Africa vs West Indies at Nagpur

West Indies entered the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup beating South Africa by 3 wickets in a tense finish.

World Cup T20: Match 14: Australia vs Pakistan at Mohali

Pakistan found their way out of the tournament as Australia beat them by 21 runs to set up a clash with India for a berth in the semi-finals. Steven Smith scored a fine half century and James Faulkner bagged the first five wicket haul for Australia in T20Is.

World Cup T20: Match 13: India vs Bangladesh at Bangalore

Agony for Bangladesh! India posted a below par total of 146 for the loss of 7 wickets. Bangladesh were on course for a victory. They needed 34 off the last 4 overs. It all nailed down to 11 needed off the last over. Hardik Pandya came in to bowl the last over. Mahmadullah took a single off the first ball and Mushfiqur Rahim sent the next two deliveries to the boundary. Pandya had him caught at mid wicket in the next ball. Mahmudullah got out the very next ball, thanks to a brilliant catch by Ravindra Jadeja. With 2 runs needed off the last ball, Shuvagata failed to connect the ball and Dhoni completed a brilliant run out to hand a 1 run victory to India.

This match turned out to be the closest finish in this tournament so far.

Afghanistan came very close to setting up a victory against England. They were held back by Moeen Ali and the bowlers as England went on to win the match by 15 runs.

Adam Zampa and Usman Khawaja were the stars of the show as Australia beat Bangladesh by 3 wickets. Bangladesh was hit badly by the loss of the key players Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny due to queries over their bowling actions.

West Indies beat Sri Lanka comprehensively by 7 wickets. West Indies batsman Andre Fletcher who came in to open in place of injured Chris Gayle, helped West Indies achieve the target of 123 set by Sri Lanka.

South Africa posted a healthy total of 209 for the loss of 5 wickets on the back of wonderful half century AB de Villiers. Afghanistan put up another fighting show in the tournament but they fell short by 37 runs. Mohammad Shahzad scored a 19 ball 44 for Afghanistan.

World T20: Match 7: India v Pakistan at Kolkata

India vs Pakistan matches have always been exciting. This one also was worth an encounter to watch. India went on to chase the 119 runs target set by Pakistan in a match reduced to 18 overs due to wet outfield. Virat Kohli scored a magnificent half century to take India over the mark. With this loss, Pakistan remain winless against India in all World Cup matches. This was India's 5th victory against Pakistan in T20 World Cup Matches.

World T20: Match 6: England v South Africa at Mumbai

This was by far the best match in the Tournament. South Africa were asked to bat first and they amassed a total of 229 for the loss of four wickets. England went on to chase down that target with only two balls remaining, thanks to a gem of an innings from Joe Root.

New Zealand continued their form in the World Cup beating Australia by 8 runs in a low score affair. They had defeated India earlier and now stands top in the group. Mitchell McClenaghan was the star of the show bagging 3 wickets for just 17 runs.

The sixth edition of the T20 World Cup was set ablaze by a cracker of an innings from Chris Gayle. Chris Gayle scored his second T20I hundred in just 47 balls hitting 11 sixes as West Indies chased a target of 183 set by England comfortably.

New Zealand stunned India by beating them comprehensively in the opening match of the T20 World Cup. New Zealand opted to keep out two of their best bowlers Tim Southee and Trent Boult and went ahead with three spinners in Nathan McCullum, Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi. The spin trio shared 9 wickets between them to thrash India.
