CRICKET ON THIS DAY: India's Epic win in the Natwest series Final 2002

On this day, 14 years back on July 13, 2002, India beat England by 2 wickets in one of the most thrilling ODI match to lift the Natwest series trophy. Sri Lanka was the other team in the tournament.

England who batted first posted a healthy total of 325/5 on the back of centuries by Marcus Trescothick and Nasser Hussain. India in reply chased down the target with 3 balls and 2 wickets to spare, thanks to half centuries by Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif.

In an echo of Flintoff 's antics at Mumbai five months earlier, Ganguly whipped off his shirt and whirled it round his head on the players' balcony.
